A hiss, a glow—then silence.
The beakers trembled.
“Blint?” Vree whispered.
From above: “I think I’ve inverted the laws of common sense.”

Never really fitting in as an egg-headed scientist, I’d show ‘em! My microbots intravenously perfected the human genome map. Like everyone’s DNA, mine was D-DNA—right-oriented enantiomers in a right-oriented world. So, I had fit in!
Alas, my CRISPRbots mirror-imaged me into an L-DNA creature. I’d never really fit in.
