Are You a Morgenmuffel?

“Morgenmuffel”

Cracking open my tired eyes, the neon green

8 flashes languidly at me, and I blink back.

Hating all mornings, I groan and sit up.

One foot hits the carpet; the other soon follows.

Zero energy. I grumble and rub sleep from my baby blues.

Four cups worth fill the pot, hot and strong.

Oh, that heavenly scent lifts the corner of my lips.

Two steaming mugs later, I finally feel human.

“Good morning, my love.”
