I dislike people saying boys and men are not into reading or writing (I am a white man who does both.) The ones who say otherwise are employed by "progressive" minded institutions designed to unjustly punish people they regard without evidence as "racist" and "colonizers". Just let me slip you my manuscript and see if you like it- that's all I want from you.
Well said! We still need heroes to battle the monsters, no matter what form they come in.
I am proud to be a part of this effort along with my buddy David Badurina, and you guys at Rac Press! Keep up the good fight!
"Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and courage. Otherwise, you are making their destiny not brighter but darker."
I used to tell my troopers something very similar, "You may love the Army, you may love it dearly, but never forget, the Army doesn't love you, and it will forget who you are about 30 seconds after you leave."
Great post. Change a few words, and it'd make a good motivational speech for fixing bayonets and standing into danger. Decades back when I was put in place as DIVO for the Navy's EW"A" School. I lost my Senior Chief in a sudden transfer. I cast about looking for someone in the division to replace him. Looked for the senior E-7 and voilà, it turned out that the GySgt instructor in the CTT ELINT course was the senior "Chief". Put him in charge and immediately the Navy instructors mobbed my office to suggest that "He's a Marine. He doesn't know electronic warfare. Pick a real Chief, Sir, he can't do the job." I chuckled and said, "Just effing watch." The guy was a fire and forget weapon. Not in a bad way. He was calm, well-spoken and had a demeanor that commanded respect and obedience. I have worked with Marines before, they never failed to impress.
Well said but, more importantly, importantly said. I do think part of the issue is all the Noise out there, which makes it difficult to find the singal--those great works and writers--that would make you change your mind on the state of the industry. Thanks for pointing so man out!

All in. Let my winners ride.

Rating and reviewing the works you read helps spread the word further.
This is why I’ve written the ultimate American fantasy satire novel. Link in profile.
