Technically, it's a line, not a series. (Though Dave promises that this book IS the first in a series.) And we are hoping, within a year or so, to launch an actual in-house series (or two) that multiple writers can play in, along the lines of The Three Investigators or Hardy Boys or Tom Swift, so that boys get to keep returning to their friends book after book.
This is literally our first time at bat with this kind of book, so it's very likely that branding and marketing will evolve.
Makes sense but I still think that a label across the top or bottom of the cover saying "An Adventure Story for Boys" would go a long way. Very old school, but it used to work, why wouldn't it now? Then again, I'm not in marketing, just an old reader. 😊
That's sort of what the "Fox Cub Adventure Club" is supposed to signal, and there is a non-zero possibility that boys have learned that adults telling them "you'll like this" is a Very Bad Sign and to be avoided.
Well, how cool is that!!!?
It's very cool.
Very exciting!
Excellent news. David Freer will do well with this.
What’s the intended age for this? Looks great but I have fairly young readers.
Very generally speaking, ten and up. There is nothing in it that would be objectionable for younger readers.
It may be too late, with the impending announced release, but I wish that the back or front cover would say "Adventure Stories for Boys Series".
They used to make it explicit. Was there concern that this would limit the market? Otherwise it just looks like another book.

But, again, we shall see how things evolve.
