We’re pleased to announce that preorders for STORM-DRAGON, the first in our series of adventure books for boys are now OPEN!
Mom and Dad, if you’re after a book where your son can be himself—independent, curious, and learning through adventure—check out Storm-Dragon.
Skut’s a kid full of imagination and curiosity. He braves buffeting wind and feral hamerkops birds to help a telepathic creature sparking with electric energy. Fleeing the rising tide and a hungry loor-beast, Skut cleverly improvises a way to safety.
Then there’s Podge. It’s tough being the new kid on a colony planet. Nevertheless, he finds a friend in Skut. Together, they explore the tide pools, contend with bullies, and stumble into something bigger—a looming threat even the adults find troubling. With their little storm-dragon, the companions face the challenge head-on, learning as they go.
Storm-Dragon presents Skut and Podge with plenty of action and difficult choices. On Vann’s World, the kids aren’t coddled—they grow tough facing the wild, testing their mettle, and building friendships along the way. A solid read for any lad who loves a challenge and yearns to explore. Available for preorder now!

Sounds great, and we have a nephew just coming up to the age range for that book!
though I have a question - I'm eyeing this as a Christmas present for the boy, but was wondering when should I order it? Do you guys need the sales most at the beginning of a release, or can it be later? Cause on the one hand, I very much want to support you as much as I can! But on the other, I tend to lose Christmas presents that I order too early, and would likely put this somewhere and then forget where I put it by December.....
Mr Freer,
I found this to be a very good juvie/YA scifi story. Believable characters and growth. (being scifi, one has to suspend some belief).
I'm hoping that you have a sequel in the works, with the children and Snarky a little older and grown. Hopefully a "pod" (family) of storm dragons are found, Snarky is united with his kind, relations grow between humans & storm dragons.
(hopefully not a spoiler below)
Oh, and the Gaths are on the run back to their home planet, soundly defeated.
